Egyptians possessed extraordinary creative range and profound intellect and intellectual culture that has attained a startlingly advanced level of development.

EGYPT has been called the "Father of History and the Mother of Civilization" and well may she be called both for her influence upon the ancient world must have been great

“No other country has so long a history of great Kings, and wise men, and brave soldiers; and in no other country can you see anything to compare with the great buildings, some of them most beautiful, all of them most wonderful, of which Egypt has so many”-

PEEPS AT MANY LANDS
BY REV. JAMES BAIKIE, F.R.A.S.

The ancient name for Egypt was “KMT”, or ‘Kemet”, which means “black land.”

Ancient Egypt was one of the first advanced ancient civilizations, which existed over 5,000 years ago, and it endured the longest of any other civilization. Egypt was born 3,000 B.C when the pharaoh Menes united the tribes that settled along the Nile river.

Egypt is often divided into two sections – Upper Egypt in the south and Lower Egypt in the north. The sections are named this way because the Nile flows from south to north. The river empties into the Mediterranean Sea, on the country’s north coast.

The Ancient Egyptians invented lots of things we still use today, such as paper, pens, locks and keys and – believe it or not – toothpaste!
